The Problem

Business Challenge

Madhukar Honey needed one system to hold together suppliers, production, inventory, customers and invoicing. Information about raw material purchases, packing runs and sales sat in different places, which made it hard to answer practical questions: how much raw honey is left, what has been packed, which customers have been invoiced for what, and what is owed to suppliers.

The business needed production to be a first-class part of the software rather than an afterthought. A simple billing tool could issue invoices, but it could not convert raw material into finished stock or show the link between what was bought and what was sold.

Industry Context

The Business Landscape Behind Madhukar Honey

Honey looks like a simple product, but running a honey business involves a surprisingly structured supply chain. Raw honey is sourced from beekeepers or suppliers, checked, processed and packed in a range of sizes, then sold through distributors, retailers and direct customers. Quality and trust matter enormously, because honey is a product where customers have good reason to ask where it came from and how it was handled.

Production businesses face a particular accounting challenge: the thing they sell is not the thing they buy. Raw material goes in, finished goods in different pack sizes come out, and the business must track both along with packaging materials, wastage and stock on hand. Without a clear record, it is easy to lose sight of how much material is available, how much has been packed and what each batch actually cost.

Food businesses also carry regulatory expectations. In India, for example, food operators are expected to follow food-safety standards and labelling rules, and a business that can show organised records of its inputs and outputs is better placed to handle audits, customer questions and recalls.

Client Goals

What Madhukar Honey Needed to Achieve

✓ Record suppliers and the raw material purchased from them

✓ Track production from raw material to packed finished goods

✓ Maintain accurate inventory for raw material, packaging and finished stock

✓ Manage customer records and issue accurate invoices

✓ Create a traceable record of inputs and outputs for quality and compliance conversations

✓ Give owners a clear view of stock, production and sales in one place

The Solution

What We Built: Modules & Features

Supplier Management

Suppliers are recorded with the materials they provide and the purchases made, giving the business a clear history of who supplied what and when. This supports better purchasing decisions and a stronger record for quality discussions.

Production Management

Production records show how raw material is converted into packed finished goods. By linking inputs to outputs, the business can see what each production run consumed and produced, instead of relying on estimates.

Inventory Management

Raw material, packaging and finished goods are tracked as stock that changes with purchases, production and sales. Owners can see what is available to pack and what is available to sell.

Customer Management

Customers, whether distributors, retailers or direct buyers, have profiles that hold contact details and purchase history, supporting repeat orders and accurate billing.

Invoicing

Sales are invoiced from stock with the correct customer and product details, and invoices are stored in a numbered, searchable record for accounts and follow-up.

Our Process

Discovery, Design & Development

We began by walking through the product's journey: how raw honey is received, how it is prepared, how it is packed into different sizes and how finished goods reach customers. Understanding that journey told us which records the business already kept informally and which it needed but did not yet have.

The data model put production at the centre. Suppliers and purchases feed raw material stock, production runs consume that stock and create finished goods, and sales draw down finished goods. Each step is its own record but linked to the next, so that questions about stock, cost or origin can be answered by following the chain.

We kept the interface straightforward for people who work between a production area and an office. Common actions such as recording a purchase, logging a packing run or issuing an invoice are short, and every screen uses plain language suited to the team rather than software jargon.

How It Works

A Day in the Life of the System

Raw material arrives from a supplier and is recorded as a purchase, increasing stock. When a packing run takes place, the system records the raw material used and the finished goods produced. Customers then order finished goods, which are invoiced and deducted from stock.

With each stage recorded, owners can look at a product or a supplier and see where material came from, how it was used and where it went. That traceability is useful not only for internal control but also for answering customer and regulator questions with confidence.

The Result

Business Impact

Madhukar Honey now has an ERP that covers the whole chain from supplier purchases to production, inventory and invoicing. Raw materials, packaging, finished goods, customers and invoices sit in one connected database instead of separate notebooks and sheets.

The practical gain is control: clearer stock, a recorded link between inputs and outputs, and billing that reflects real inventory. We have deliberately left out unverified numbers; the system's value lies in giving the business a dependable structure it can grow on, with room for batch tracking, costing or reporting to be added later.
